The project location is on the Southwest of CHCSJ, a sector of Estrada Nova and Estrada do Visconde de S. Januário in between. The site area is about 5,700 m2, 8 stories height (including ground floor), the highest building height is approximately 35.6m. The building is equipped with 80 standard single isolation wards, operating room area, testing laboratory, observation room, X-ray room, Computed Tomography(CT) scanning room and electrical and mechanical equipment floor, etc. Also with footbridge and underpass, which linked to existing CHCSJ buildings.

Design specification of the new building is according to the standard of Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases by World Health Organization(WHO), which is parted with different functional subarea, on the basis of making great accessibility, to separate the contaminated and axenic area, to prevent or decrease the opportunities to cause cross-infection. Moreover, to cater for the health care operation, the ventilating and air-conditioning system in negative pressure isolation wards would be much rigorous than other general wards. Therefore, the layout of the E&M system has already been well considered to the ventilating system and viral infections preventive facilities in different subareas.

The construction period for the whole project is 660 workdays, and milestone of the topping-out for the superstructure is within 385 workdays.
