On the morning of June 10, 2025, our company officially hosted a groundbreaking and blessing ceremony for the Government Historical Archives Building Renovation Project. We extend our sincere appreciation to the representatives from the project owner, supervision team, design firm, subcontractors, and suppliers for graciously attending the event. During the ceremony, all participants expressed their wishes for a safe and successful project launch through solemn incense offerings and respectful prayers, marking an auspicious beginning to the renovation works.
Project Overview

The project is located at Lot O4, at the junction of Avenida Son On and Rua Heng Long, Pac On, Taipa, Macau. The development occupies a site area of approximately 4,366 square meters, with a 13-storey building totaling around 55,600 square meters of gross floor area, and over 40,000 square meters of usable space. The building comprises 13 floors above ground and 1 basement level, housing facilities for archival intake, sorting, restoration, and preservation. Dedicated digitization rooms will also be included to support the long-term digital preservation of historical documents.
Our company is responsible for the interior renovation works covering the basement, floors 5 through 11, and the roof level. In line with the building’s future use as the Macao SAR Government’s official archive repository, the scope includes the installation of water-cooled precision air-conditioning systems in all planned archive rooms, and the addition of maintenance corridors around them to provide controlled buffer zones. These corridors will be constructed with 4-hour fire-rated insulated drywalls, while thermal insulation layers will be added to the ceilings of the archive rooms. A constant temperature and humidity HVAC system will be installed to maintain optimal archival conditions, along with a high-pressure water mist fire suppression system to ensure the protection of critical equipment.
In addition to the archive storage areas, the project will introduce a range of specialized spaces including an archives exhibition hall, server room, sterilization chamber, pest control zone, and dedicated office areas.
The project is expected to be completed by December 2025, and will play a key role in supporting the centralized preservation and safeguarding of Macau’s valuable archival resources for future generations.
